The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence – it is to act with yesterday’s logic - Peter Drucker

Working with the Tides

Like the tides, change is a constant in our lives. That the tides will turn is a given, but little else about the sea is as predictable. Similarly, aspects of change can be planned but others will emerge through patterns of self-organisation. TurningTides honours both states by framing the change and creating the best conditions for success.

We aim to achieve the right balance between managing change as a directed process and facilitating it bottom-up as an emergent dynamic. Inflexible methods and route maps can exclude and demoralise. Equally too little rigour or lack of metrics can leave change programmes meandering. Both approaches create anxiety if used in isolation of each other. So we need both but in balance. We use accepted change and improvement methodology to help you articulate goals and identify simple measures to promote clarity of purpose.

We believe that everyone has the capacity to transform themselves and their systems as long as they feel involved and recognised for their contribution. To galvanise this energy we facilitate generative conversations to promote shared understanding and an agreed direction of effort.
